Auditioning and Booking

ESPN Magazine Test Shoot

So recently, I have been auditioning a lot more for commercials and tv shows. House Production, where I used to work has played a big part in my professional career.

I booked a national print ad for ESPN Magazine, in which they are featuring fans. So being from Philly, I decided to go and rock my Eagles attire, which I love so much. My father bought me a some pj’s, which I decided to don, as well as my signature 80’s Eagles winter hat with a pom pom on top.

So I was chosen as 1 of many fans and they were deciding to do a test shoot. They needed someone without hair on their chest, so I immediately volunteered. We did some crazy shots, where we went crazy and cheered out hearts out. Then they decided to use us for the cover as fans with our chests painted. You can see the test shoot that they used for the actual shoot at the picture above.

So then we were off to Giants Stadium. We took a bus to East Rutherford and then passed security and walked through the tunnel right onto the field. It was amazing and Brandon Jacobs was there for a photo shoot. Then we had to remove out shirts in 20 degree weather and have our letters painted. Fortunately, I brought a robe to keep covered up, but it was a good 4 hours of picture taking, some in the bleachers and others on the field.

The next issue of ESPN Magazine should be out on Thursday, 2/1. I will be on the cover being a crazy man. The producer of the shoot also had 2 used footballs from the Giants games and one was an Eagles ball that had been left behind. Being the only Eagles fan there out of all the fans, he gave me the ball. That was clutch! So anyways, it was a blast, but I think it made me sick. A day later I was not feeling well.

After a week, I am back to speed and auditioned for Spike TV’s ‘Playbook’, which is kind of like Dinner and a movie, but it has “Guys” tidbits in between each clips and commercial. I auditioned for the host of the show and it went great. I feel positive and think if I am truly what they are looking for, then I’ll book that too.

I also auditioned for a Pizza Hut commercial as a waiter and got to do tons of improvisation, so that was fun. Speaking of improv, an old classmate is forming a group to write and create internet sketches and do sketch comedy and asked me to join. I will meet with him later this week.

In less than a week, my youtube account should have all my clips uploaded too,I have given them to my editor, Dan Schimpf, and he is tagging them and uploading for me. So more clips to view, go to www.youtube.com/stephenseidel

I met with 2 old directors I worked with , Rainer Evans and Dave Johnson and discussed creating a few of our own collaborations. I will be following up to discuss next week on Monday.

I have also been watching all the SAG nominated movies and ‘Into the Wild’ is the best film I have seen in quite some time. Sean Penn does is right on that one, I strongly urge you to watch that one.

Lastly, I am going to be buying my own camera shortly and creating my own projects. I am looking at the Canon HV20 and it is not too expensive. Thus I can focus on a few of my online scripts.
