Auditioning and Booking
Recently, LA Talent has been calling me for commerical auditions. It has been for roles of young dad, and yes I must come to terms that I am vastly approaching fatherhood. I went to Melissa Feliciano casting at 1020 studios, where I knew her and her assistant, Asia, from working at House Production Casting in NYC. They were very nice. My audition went great, it was for GE laundry machines. I am also slated to Cathy Carlson Casting on Monday for another young day with sleeping issues, of which I have plenty. My brain runs all the time, so it should be a breeze for me. I also did a workshop with Lisa Essary and Larry Metzger, an agent, and it went great. We’ll see what happens.
I got a call and have been BOOKED for a film in TX. It is being produced and directed by Javier Chapa, and is called, “Pepe and Santo VS. America”. I play a Canadian day laborer, eh? I am looking forward to transforming into him and letting my imagination takeover. So that starts really really soon, the end of next week, and I will be gone for 3 weeks of shooting. It’ll be good to be back on an indie set, they are my favorites. I have also booked a smaller project going to Dubai, which will be more on the hosting side.
In addition, my MacBook is up and running and I have outlined, the screenply formerly titled, ‘De Pablo’ and will use my time in Brownsville to complete it. Also, my new headshots are completed and being narrowed down to my favorite 3. Upon my return, I will be updating my reel and beginning to edit on my own at home. I will be getting Final Cut this week.
Last night, I met a friend at a local bar in Hollywood. She was a friend of a friend and we hung out at a birthday jam. Good times, ran into a few people from back East, from my days at SNL. Jason was there and he remembered Amy from 30 Rock episode they did way back then. So needless to say, it was a fun little bar with donuts in the back corner and it took all my might to not snatch up the book full of bear claws. While driving home, all I did was use my sense memory to re-create that pastry. Sometimes you just gotta go for it. Peace.
