Easy Listening
The world runs on music. Without music, there’d be no rhythm, no beats, and no dancing. Everything can be heard, if you listen close enough.
Tomorrow, I will be hearing the sounds of a shutter; I will be doing a test shoot with a friend of a friend, Christophe Randall, crphoto.com and we will be taking LA style shots all over the city. They should turn out to be pretty fun, I will be working with another talented actress, Jacquelyn Richey, whom I first acted with way back when in Austin, TX.
In addition, I got a call for a final interview for The Moving Arts Theater Company. I will be meeting with them next week and got asked to participate in a reading on 10/1. It will be brand new material, read for the first time, so that should be exciting. We will be moving to the tune of a new hyme.
Today, I spoke with Johnny from Exclusive Casting Studios, where I auditioned for Bud Light and will be working with them in the future. They need additional assistance on the casting end and I would love to help out in my spare time. They work very closely with House Production, the NY offices where I booked my Hershey’s Take 5 commerical, ONDCP online PSA, and AMC’s Date Nite. Let the good times rock n roll.
Comedy and laughter is a sound so sweet. Laughter can make all your worries dissappear. Monday I will begin class at the LA Comedy Connection in Sherman Oaks. It’s an improv class and I will be studying with the founder, Kent. I am ready to get my comedy chops up and running again and will be doing shows in no time.
Tonight, I am going to meet an old friend, Joe Hursley from Austin, we studied together in CK MacFarland’s class. He is the lead singer of ‘The Ringers’ and they are playing at the ROXY. They will be bringing straight up rock and roll to the soul. It’s my first time there and I am a little excited, but can’t party too late, I have my photo shoot tomorrow. Joe was featured on PUNK’D back in the day. Funny story, he has no shame and I just knew he was going places. Another person from Austin, I knew was ‘going places’ was Amber Heard. I had a class with Gary Chason in Austin and she was probably 16, and she was very easy on the eyes, and you just knew, in due time, and sure enough, catch her in Pineapple Express.
Anyways, just a few cool stories, another cool story, a buddy is producing a pretty big film and we go way back. I might be helping him out in a little while, more to come, don’t need to let any cats out of any bags. However, we can be sure and listen to the stories of others and keep an open ear.
In the words of LL. ‘Doin’ it, and doin’ it, and doin’ it…wow’ Just keep on trucking and take whatever door opens. I have an interview for a radio station, MYFM tomorrow before my photo shoot, I’d love to do some broadcasting, that was my first passion, the good ole radio, then this info superhighway took over. We’ll see what happens, but the radio will always be here.
I can still hear the sounds of my youth, “…and this is Casey Kasem with America’s Top 40.”
