Weekend Pleasures
Weekends are a time for the finer things.
Yesterday a close friend, Joe Gatto from The Tenderloins visited us in LA. He made a nice home cooked meal fully equiped with potatoes, salads, teriyaki chicken and the works. That was a fine meal. He was visiting to check out his edit for his comedy troupe’s Spike TV pilot. It looks good, check em out, thetenderloins.com
In addition, I saw my other friend, Joe Hursley, the front man of ‘The Ringers’ play at the ROXY on Thursday. My first time there, but it was well worth it. He is like Mick Jagger with yoga flexibility and the energy of Robin Williams. You must go see them. We used to study in Austin and I also met up with another bud, Brandon who is also excelling out here.
While at the ROXY, my old fraternity bud, Curtis met up and we had a few beers and caught up on things. We discussed possibly working together in the future on my host driven reality shows. We will be meeting to review our ideas and put a plan together. We also kicked it on Saturday to watch the Penn State football game in WeHo. Quite a good time to see my alma mater tearing it up on the football field.
Emmy’s are in full swing. I shot over to the pre-show gift giveaway party produced by Debbie Durkin. Now she does a quality job producing and utilizing her sponsors to create a wonderful ambience. We spoke for a few minutes and may potentially work together in the future. I also ran into several other cool cats, while dining and checking out the promotional items. Today, I am headed over to the Emmy’s at 6:30. A close friend is a personal assistant for one of the nominees. I will let you know how it all unfolds.
Oh yeah, the Philadephia Eagles were victorious after the letdown to the ‘Boys’ last week. Watch out, PA is running wild in the sporting races. Lastly, my old friend Sandra is a freelance editor and will be assisting me in the uploading of my cross country footage of “Fueling Our Dreams” and pulling my shots for some of my reality show pitches. I can’t wait to begin completing it.
I keep forgeting, but close friends are producing “Ballad of a Broken Angel” and are looking for another investor to get the finances in place to complete this indie master film. Masiela Lusha and Roddy Piper are on board, amongst many others. If you are interested in participating, please contact me at stephen@stephesneidel.net
Hasta luego, let the Mondays begin…
