Today I worked on Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. I ran into Blake Lively, who starred in the first, while I was there. I first met her on set of Gossip Girl, where I was a stand-in. That pilot got picked up by CW and is now filming in Manhattan. Mark Piznarski was the director, and I am trying to get seen for any of the smaller roles. I was on set at 6am, bright eyed and bushy tailed. It was a sunny day at NYU, where we were filming.
I finally have my website up: WWW.STEPHENSEIDEL.NET and it is rocking and rolling. I made contact with Aaron Anderson from Magenta and will be meeting with him Wed and doing a few monologues, I can’t wait! In addition, I got called to audition by another agent for AMEX as a British photographer. Right now I am reviewing my Voice & Speech notes from my class with Pat Fletcher.
It’s 9pm and I haven’t had a chance to eat yet, I am thinking its time to cook up a STEAK-UM and chow down. I also need to follow up with a few friends and touch base via the tele. Anyways, in one month from now I am preparing to go to the Jersey Shore and am needing it bad. Long days of hitting the grind and following up on contacts and phone calls.
So my old buddy, Franco from my Tape performance told me I remind him of an older Shia LaBeouf. I f’ing love that kid, he was amazing in A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, so I was pretty psyched about that. Franco is an old street magician and we made plans to teach me some tricks in the next week or two, should be magical.
Well I am off to look for a new place to live, thinking about relocating from my shotty basement apartment in Bumble Queens. We shall see. Talk later.
Friday Night, I helped a close friend and filmmaker, Mike P, shoot the New Breed Fighters fight at the House of Blues in AC. I was the crazy cameraman right up on the fence. There were some knockouts and blood flying, fun part is…it landed on my pants. Needless to say they are now at the laundry. We had a switchboard and our 4 cameras were being toggled back and forth. It was broadcast throughout the Showboat and a DVD is underway. You can purchase our last filming from May at www.newbreedfighters.com I then took a bus from AC back to NYC and got the 1:30 am bus. Wow, lots of interesting people coming home from the Casinos.
I literally could have been placed in the Twilight Zone Grab Bag and would not have known the difference. If you ever want to find some interesting people to observe, go to the Port Authority any time after 3am on a weekend. People are straight out of Barnum and Bailey, it was quite fun actually. Then when I hit 8th ave I got asked to buy drugs about 5 times. “Smoke, Coke!”…”No man, I’m cool” After that, the women, trannies, whatever came next…”Hey want a good time. Where you going big boy”…”No thanks”
Finally made it home about 5am.
Booked some work on “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” on Monday through good ole Grant Wilfley Casting. Going to be a featured NYU student in a scene. That’ll be hard to do since I’m a highschool dropout…..NOT! Remember that NOT thing Wayne from Wayne’s World used to do on SNL. I’m bringing it back. I will also be bringing back Zubaz pants and of course, Bart Simpson’s COWABUNGA t-shirts. With his movie blowing up, there’s no better time.
I’m off to go watch Pacino at his finest, ‘Godfather’.
Today was a great day. I hit the streets hard and got called about 2 bookings. I booked a feature film, 2 Star State of Mind, Garden State meets Royal Tannenbaums. We will be shooting in NYC during August and September. I will be playing the lead, Steve Willoughby. Also today, I got a call about a series of webisodes called, Five to Six, which I will be on the lead 6 characters. That is an online soap geared towards college kids. In addition, I audition for an American Express Beyonce Commercial as a hair stylist and an informercial for Laurel Collegiate Loans. They were at my old internship haven, House Productions. It was a long day of running around, but also managed to pick up some sweet kicks from Lacoste on discount and ushered my friend, Alexis MacDonald’s showcase, Strings Attached at the ATA Theater. So now I am back at the pad working on my website and just picked up the stills from the movie I wrote and acted in, Recon, so I can post them on IMDB. Tomorrow will be a busy day, shooting New Breed Fighters, MMA, which stands for Mixed Martial Arts for my buddy Mike Pullano. We are putting together a DVD series somewhat similar to Ultimate Fighting. Also, tomorrow our film, Recon is nominated for the Best Action Sequence at the Action on Film Fest in Long Beach California, www.aoffest.com . Good times. I am looking forward to a little script reading and some nice sticky sleeping in this New York heat. www.stephenseidel.net Coming real soon!
