Back in The "Mix"

Love’s DoorstepSo its been awhile since I have last spoken to many of my classmates at Esper Studios. One friend, Todd Estrin, moved to Cali and referred me to a friend for a short film, Tele. The director, Danial Jaafar, lives in Mylasia and sent me my copy finally. It was fun to see some of my older work, which I have completed forgotten about. Todd and I were co-producers of our own showcase called, Love’s Doorstep, directed by Annie Coburn. We produced a showcase to showcase our talents to agents and industry. Unfortunately, the catering, acting, raffles, booze and mingling didn’t bring that large a crowd. See me and some classmates above. It went great and was a thrill to create and act in my own show. I performed a lesser known piece, called ‘Tape’ written by Jose Rivera, about someone who must listen to all the lies they have told in their life as punishment, quite an amazing piece. (See picture above)

In addition, today I spoke to Michael Turney of ‘The Action Room’ from illusiontv.com . We shot an 80’s spoof, where I played a Jock. It will be on cable, on-demand soon. I will be getting a copy of that tomorrow. Fun times.

I am back on the phones, calling all my freelance agents and touching base and trying to establish some good terms to create opportunities for both of us. I also scheduled an actors connection to meet with Sheryl Baker-Fisher tomorow night of “One Life to Live”, to display some of my soap abilities. My last appearance was on ‘Guiding Light’ as ‘Dude’. I also am following up about my release of ‘The Rise of The Dead’, with producers to determine some contractual fun stuff.

Now, I am going to another producer’s house, Paul Mammano, to view my pilot of ‘Five to Six’. I am excited to see how it turns out. Also, I am beginning to write some of my own shorts and trying to get my latest into Steve Martin’s hands, as he will benefit from appearing in this short TREMENDOUSLY. If you know his agent or friend, please let me know. I will help you too! Later yall.

Philly

Breadancing in 3rd gradeSo its been a bit. Right now I am visiting my family outside of Philly. It is so nice to get away and watch the leaves change and see ‘harvesting’ going on around me. My twin niece and nephew are getting way too big, way too soon. Take a looksy. They just turned 1 last month and not too long ago, I was breakdancing at the 3rd grade talent show!

Last week, I was working on a few things. I read for my new webisode, Mercy and Young, where I will be playing a cop and doing a wicked video blog, about the effects of 9/11 on lung disease. Keep an eye out. It will come out soon.

In addition, I auditioned with Bernard Telsey for TMobile and House Production for Radio Shack. They went great. I also have been rehearsing for my new Equity play, The Estate, please see, www.prometheusfire.org . Anyways, I went to Actorsfest at the Hammerstein Ballroom and met some old improv friends, an old acting mate and some other people. I walked up to the casting table and gave my reel to Nickolodeon and Telemundo…great potential for kids and Spanish, I know.

Now I am at Philly with my sister and today was my halfbrother, Dakotta’s 8th birthday. We went to Chucke Cheese and won some tickets, got some prizes, ate some pizza, and sand with Charles himself. I also picked up my grandfather’s old school jacket from my father’s house, its nice I tell you.

Now I am hanging out and gettting ready to drive back to NYC tomorrow, to hit the grind again. More things to come. I am shooting a spec commercial on Oct 25th. In addition, last Saturday I shot a pilot for cable television called Trak Balls, a spoof on the 80’s style shows. I will letcha know. Oh yeah, saw the movie, Lars and the Real Girl, through SAG foundation, it is one of a kind, you must see it and Ryan Gosling is no joke. He and Pat Clarkson were there, very cool.

Fun News

Rise of The Dead, Coming SoonIt’s Been Awhile. My movie, Tantrum, now titled, “Rise of the Dead” is going to be released by Lions Gate on 11/13/2007. Visit MoviesUnlimited.com today for your copy of “Rise Of The Dead [DVD]“. I am Laura Child’s boyfriend, Jack. The DVD cover looks surprisingly like me, but who knows..???

I went to Austin, TX and San Antonio earlier this week and filmed ‘Intervention’ a short film about motivation and moving on after a loss. It was filmed by DP, Phil Curry, who was an older man with a white cowboy hat and a long graying hair. He was like a silent warrior. In addition, the other crew members were amazing. My castmate and writer, director, Michael Lange did a great job juggling every ball in the air. www.doublethinkproductions.tv for more information. We are definitely going places with this film. Christopher Viltz took some still photos, please visit http://www.flickr.com/photos/viltzphoto/show/with/1454506452/. Our last short film was in the Austin Film Festival. See pic from ‘Intervention’ of me as Collin.Collin and Kevin Sutherland

Also, this past weekend I shot the pilot episode of 5 to 6, www.fivetosix.com. It went great, there was a great cast and crew and we shot in Montclair, NJ. The dailies were fabulous, I am looking forward to finishing the rest of the webisodes. The pilot should be up shortly. I have a drunk scene, hungover scene, party scene and there should be some behind (the) scenes, ha ha.

I just was cast in another webisode, Murphy and Young, written by Tim Sheard (http://www.timsheard.com/). He is a crime novelist and is bringing his writings to the info superhighway. I am a NYPD detective who was involved in 9/11 and is suffering from lung problems. Me and my partner are very Law & Orderesque. I will be performing video blog’s as Agent Charlie Young. This will give me an opportunity to pay tribute to a close personal friend and old policeman, Jimmy McMann who was involved in the catastrophy at St. Patricks’s Cathedral. I am very excited about this role.

My other film, 2 Star State of Mind, has 2 days left to shoot. We are winding down production and it looks great. It is a great script and the shots look wonderful. I am ready for the completion, visit www.myspace.com/twostarstateofmind for more details.

Today I pitched several ideas of mine to a close friends’ girlfriend, Kristen, who works at CBS. I created programming shows, some of which were innovative, and others were spins of other shows. Nonetheless, (is that one word??) they have been sent out and I am awaiting a response to do and pitch them to their developmental team.

In addition, I am in the process of creating my own webseries to be shot in my basement apartment. I live in a wood paneled basement and my idea is circa 70’s and will push a few buttons. I will be shooting with a wonderful actress named, Amy Highfill, www.myspace.com/amyhighfill . We are in preproduction and planning on collaborating with Houston Street Productions.

This Saturday, October 6th, I will be performing at the UCB Theater as part of my training of long form improvisation. After I complete this, I am hopefully going to enroll in a sketch writing class to learn UCB’s take on how its done. My performance will be 26th St and 8th Ave in Manhattan at 4pm. See you there.

Well, that’s enough info for you now. My niece and nephew turned 1 on 9/23, the same day as my mom’s birthday. We had a big party with all my family and it was splendifourous fun. Signing off yall!
