2 Star State of Mind, Reshoots

Friday and Saturday, I did a quick reshoot for my feature length indie film, 2 Star StateĀ of Mind. The story follows a young man’s journey through his family’s addictions and the various whirlwind of life that encompasses him.

It stars myself, as well as several other talented actors; Lindsay Felton, Marcia Haufrecht, Chris Kerson, Amy Highfill, Luke Leonard and many other supporting roles. The film was shot by DP Jesse James Malings and directed by Ron Massuci. You can find more info at www.myspace.com/twostarstateofmind and the website is coming soon, www.twostarstateofmind.com . The film is a mix of Garden State and Royal Tannenbaums.

Anyways, I today and yesterday I shot with Chris and Marcia and it was a blast to finish up. I kind of don’t want it to end, but all good things must end and its time to move on. We are waiting to hear from Tribeca Film Festival and hopefully if all goes well, we will be in like flint. Thats it for now. Oh yeah, my computer crashed, so all my writings have been deleted, note to self: Always back up my files on disks or online. Signing off. – S to the S

Commemoration of Life

Tomorrow, Sunday, March 2nd, I am meeting with a DP and editor to discuss my concept for an online documentary commemorating life in many ways. The online show will feature me as the host and spokesperson interviewing various subjects and how they can commemorate their lives or the lives of others in many artistic ways. I am hoping to shoot the first doc by mid-March and to have it uploaded to the internet by April. This will be the first of many more episodes in the search for our meanings in this very large world we live in.

Dark Matter Premiere

Last Wednesday, February I attended the Dark Matter indie screening at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center. The movie premiered at the 2007 Sundance festival and has had many acclaimed reviews. It stars Merryl Streep and Aidan Quinn.

I am friend of a friend to the producer, Andrea Miller. The facilities at the Walter Reade Theater are amazing. I met the site photgrapher, David Godlis, as well as the casting director of the movie, Ellen Parks. She was very nice and we talked a great deal about casting in LA. I strongly urge you to see the movie, you can find out more online, and it revolves around on actual events, a Chinese university student responds violently when his chances for a Nobel Prize are dashed by school politics. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416675/
