Let the show…begin

Tonight, A Body Without a Head began at the Manhattan Theater Source to a soldout crowd. My mother and sister came all the way from Philly and George Carr, the director wanted to meet my family. So that was fun.

We are listed in Time Out New York. http://www.timeout.com/newyork/events/theater/58314/548298/a-body-without-a-head

Brian O’Neil from Marketing as a Business was there. We ran into each other tons of times on the street It was great to see him there. Great guy, great book, buy it.

In addition, I have a callback on Thursday for a Hellman’s Light commercial I auditioned for at Endeavor Studios. I was the painter, construction worker from Williamsburg, who DOES NOT eat anything light, except my mayo.

Got a call to do a little thing on Law & Order: CI, later this week. Not sure what the capacity is, or how I would be involved, but more to come on that. Sounds fun, I was told them might call me later this week.

My first feature length screenplay is about 1/3 done. My first Act is getting hashed out and written only to be written and rewritten several more times. I’ll keep ya posted.

The first of a series of comedic shorts has just been written by Evan Bass Zeisel and myself. We met today and were trying to get Judah Friedlander on board, he has scheduling issues, so we are going to go forward and shoot that on May 15th, get ready, its pretty funny. I don’t normally guarantee funny, unless Will Ferrell is involved, so lets just say my friends laughed when they read it.

I am also planning on moving to LA. I made a date for myself and am thinking June 1st, I may be off to the West Coast to try my hand. I have my newly purchased Canon HV-20 to film my voyage documentary style and will try my hands at whatever life brings me.

Oh yeah, last thing. Went to the Cadillac Records Wrap Party last week, that was a crazy night. One too many Vodka Tonics, but chilled with Adrien and Jeffrey and other cast and crew and did some karaoke freestyling. I was a little unfocused when I left and forgot my damn ‘Cadillac Records’ hat. Go get it, Angels and Kings in Alphabet city.

Later…

Come see the indie-theater, ‘A Body Without a Head’.

A Body Without a Head- Playbill Feature

Brandon Ruckdashel has joined ‘A Body Without a Head’ and we were featured in an article from Playbill. http://www.playbill.com/news/article/117010.html

I am playing Torpes’s brother, Pollo, based on the Greek God of Light, Apollo. This show will knock your socks off. There is wine, a sculpture and painting display and the wonderful world of our souls twisted into a web of love. Manhattan Theater Source, 4/28 – 5/2 at 8pm.

In addition, I finished writing, ‘Making an Honor Code’ for Judah Friedlander from ‘30 Rock’. Another writer and myself are trying to bring him on board, but due to scheduling conflicts may have to move forward. It is a great script. Last week, I attended a screenwriting seminar hosted by Amy Dotson, from IFP, and it was extrmely informative. I am thinking about entering in one of my documentaries I am creating.

Currently, I am writing my feature length screenplay and developing a concept for a cross country film from NY to LA for sometime in June. That will be my breakthrough documentary, ala Easy Rider or Rain People. I also have one other great concept for a scripted show I am working on flushing out.

‘Cadillac Records’ wrapped it principle photography and will be having a wrap party this week. That should be a blast, I will let you know more after that. I have some national commercials this week and feel confident about my ‘Hellman’s ‘ audition on Wednesday.

Also on Wednesdays, I am back in Sign Language classes, it is such a pleasure to learn a new language and incorporate this non-verbal communication in my daily life. I will also be meeting Brian Drew, an editor at NBC for a crash course in Final Cut and Avid, so that I can begin editing my own films.

Anyways, check out my latest documentary, COL.

More soon. Come to my play and ‘Learn to Forgive!’.

Commemoration of Life: FINISHED!!

So Commemoration of Life is finally finished. My editor and DP, had other projects to work on. Thus, I purchased a harddrive and sought a second editor, Adam Gilbert. He tore it up! I highly recommend him and his services. I already had a nice rough cut, but the fine tuning is where it all falls into place.

View the 1st Episode of many documentaries to come from Stephen Seidel (S to the S) and Blossom Hill Productions.

View Here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuhaRp1EF2E]

This film is about Chris White, an HIV/AIDS patient from NYC and how she commemorates her life, even in tough times. Since she is from NYC, and is a teacher, it really shows how the city affects her daily life and the decisions she makes. These decisions affect not only her and her family, but her career and others around her.

It allows, ‘S to the S’ the ability to explore what keeps her going and how she reflects on what is important to her and how she ’savors’ them. It is quite a quick and intriguing journey that will make you look at your city stroll through the hectic rountine commute to work. It could be described as ‘Dateline’ meets ‘American Beauty’

Please visit the website: www.youtube.com/CommemorationOfLife to post your own video response of how you ‘Commemorate Life’. A webcam or quick message is all you need to start down your path to exploratory healing.

Thanks for your time.

A Body Without a Head

I contacted Judah Friedlander from ‘30 Rock’ after meeting him out one night. I asked if he may be interested in working on a sketch comedy bit. After myspacing him, he replied and said he might be interested. Thus, Evan Bass, a fellow student with me, and star of internet sensation, ‘We Need Girlfriends’ decided to write a short politically charged comedy about some recent issues in the world. I must say, it is good, not to be humble, but I am really proud of it, it takes place at a University and we are seeking Judah as the Dean. More on that later, I hope he responds soon, b/c I want to shoot this.

I just purchased a Canon HV-20 from B&H, as well as a microphone and all the fun accessories needed. So now, I am fully equipped to shoot whenever, wherever, the next step is learning a little bit of Final Cut Pro, so that I can edit. I am going to have some time to myself, amidst rehearsals for ‘A Body Without a Head’, and other small projects, so I will be writing my feature length, that is taking forever but needs to evolve like that.

My feature length, has been flushed out now fully and I have read my writing books and feel comfortable with everything, so now I am getting adjusted with Final Draft and starting some pages. More to come.

Also, I am returning to ‘Cadillac Records’ for one more day next week and will be linking up with everyone again, it’s a great set to be a part of. I can’t wait to begin directing my own feature length sometime in the next 3 years. You’ll see.

More to come, almost done ‘Commemoration of Life’!!

Also, my film Manhattanites will be premiering late May, as well as my other indie, 2 Star State of Mind, www.twostarstateofmind.com . Another short film I acted in, ‘Intervention’ was just selected into the Ohio Independent Film Festival. So things are cooking now. Gotta get some z’s.
